AUSTRALIAN WHITEWATER RAFTING

“Sponsorship
is vital to the ongoing success of Australian Rafting Federation”

White water rafting is one of the fastest growing
adventure sports in the world, with more than 30 million people actively
involved throughout the world. The International
Rafting Federation
(IRF) currently has 35 nations actively involved in the
sport including the recently incorporated Australian Rafting Federation.

White water rafting now joins the growing list of
sporting events in which Australians
are world-beaters. This follows the recent win by the Australian rafting
team in the Camel Whitewater Challenge (CWWC), which was held on the mighty
Zambezi River in Africa in 2001.

The CWWC annually brings together the worlds top
rafting nations to compete in the biggest and most exciting white water rivers
in the world. Teams qualify through a system of National and Continental
Selections. As a result, the teams represented at the CWWC are the worlds
undisputed top rafting teams.

The recent Australian team has gained media coverage not
only through international television but also through international newspapers
and magazines e.g. Paddler Magazine – which has a huge global subscriber ship.

Our Australian team has gained this worldwide recognition
through stringent training schedules and great expense. They personally funded
their trip to Africa this year with limited sponsorship and overcame many odds
to win this prestigious event. It is the ARFs aim to now keep Australia at
the top of the rafting ladder.

This will be achieved by competing in three major events
in the year 2002.

– Australian Rafting Titles, Sydney
Olympic Whitewater Stadium, 29th-30th March

  (New
Sponsor) White Water Challenge, Nepal early September (to be confirmed).

– IRF World Rafting Championships, Launceston Tasmania
Australia December 2002

Plus various International Invitational events in Europe
and the USA, pending sponsorship.

The success of our Australian teams (male & female)
relies heavily on the support and financial backing of sponsors. In return we
would ensure our sponsors international exposure as this exciting sport of
whitewater rafting explodes all over the world. All sponsorship will go directly
helping the ARF and teams for equipment, airfares, accommodation and training
over a 12-month period.

The
ARF

The Australian Rafting Federation  was formed in
December 2000, in order to meet the International Rafting Federation
requirements to stage the Australian National Selection Titles, and to ensure
Australian representation on an international level. The A.R.F. is a non-profit
organisation whose main purposes is: To stage competition events so that
our regional rafting talent can compete and aspire to the highest level of
competition. Secondly to acknowledge and maintain rafting tradition that
promotes the conditions, which encourage the development of rafting at
recreational levels also. The A.R.F. is managed by a dedicated and hard working
team of volunteers, whose only payment is the satisfaction of seeing the
continual improvement of this rapidly growing extreme sport.

The inaugural Australian Rafting Selection Titles were held
on the Tully River within the Tully Gorge State Forest Park in March 2001. This
event covered the three disciplines as per I.R.F. race requirements. This
includes a sprint race, slalom and down river race. We then sent our qualifying
mens team to the Australasian titles in Japan who then received an invitation
to the Camel White Water Rafting Challenge in Africa. As stated this team
defeated the Worlds top 16 mens teams at this long running extreme event
and were to travel on the IRF Worlds in the West Virginia U.S.A. Due to world
events in September and a lack of funding this team was sadly unable to continue
competing.

Financial Support

We are asking you for your
financial support or support with product in order to subsidize the cost that
the individual athletes will incur in competing in these national and
international events. Without the support of corporations and the community, it
is unlikely that the athletes will be able to achieve their dream. We are
offering three levels of sponsorship in which you are able to participate.
